Easy Step By Step Instructions For Converting Your Car To Run On Water

As the price of fuel for your car simply skyrockets, do you wonder where it's all going to stop and how much longer you can even afford to run your car? The huge increase in oil prices lately would indicate that the cost of running your car is only going to go up up up. This means more from your budget each week going straight into your car. Can you afford this?

For a lot of years now we have heard through the media all about the advantages of having a hydrogen (water-based) powered car, and the convenience that goes with it. The difference these cars would make to our environment to start with would be mind boggling - we would all be able to live in a much cleaner and healthier environment, as would our children, and our children's children. Then on top of all that the cost saving for many families could mean the difference between surviving in these dificult times, or going under. Imagine being able to run your car on water - wow!

Surprisingly to most people, converting your car to a hydrogen powered car is way less complicated than you might think. Really - if you think about it - all you would need it a system to break up water into hydrogen and oxygen, then to inject these gases into a regular engine.

Because we have been literally forced to pay the prices the oil companies demand, some people have become very passionate about finding a simple way to make this work so we no longer have to continue to make the oil companies richer.

As time has moved on, there are a number of options available to you should you be sick and tired of being ripped off by the oil companies, be struggling to fuel your car each week, or simply want to help to save our environment. There is even a guide available providing very easy step by step instructions for converting your car to run on water. This guide explains how to go about it with not a lot of technical expertise required. For those who are interested but unable to perform the conversion themselves, the report also suggests inexpensive alternatives.

I get very annoyed by the fact that this information should have been available to us all a long time ago. I think it's about time we were all given the option. If you would like to read more about this or download the report, please go to

I believe in giving people a fair go, and I really hope my article has at least made you aware that you have options.

Motorcycle Tire Changer: Pointers For The Enthusiast

Unfortunately, changing a tire on a motorcycle is not as easy as changing a tire on a car. In fact, many motorcycle owners decide to get their tires professionally changed. But if they learn how to use a motorcycle tire changer, they can change the tires themselves without having to pay too much money.

Of course, in order to make sure they don't spend too much, they will need to make sure they get the right kind of motorcycle tire changer. There are ones that work automatically. However, these units tend to be very expensive, since they are designed to be used in an auto shop. So, unless a motorcycle has a lot of money or they plan on being a mechanic, automatic motorcycle tire changers are not the best choice. Instead, they need to consider getting a manual one.

Rim Damage

Yet, even among manual motorcycle tire changers, there are differences that motorcycle owners need to be aware of. For example, cheaper motorcycle changers can damage painted alloy rims, due to the way they work. You can try to lessen the chance of getting your rims damaged by holding the clams with duct tape, but this may be annoying after a while. So, a better option would involve buying a manual motorcycle tire changer that is designed not to hurt rims. The aptly-named No-Mar is an example.

No-Mar was created by a motorcycle aficionado who was frustrated at how often his rims got scratched each time he had to get his motorcycle wheels changed. He figured, why should you have to pay money to get your rims scratched? Thus, after a bit of experimentation, the No-Mar motorcycle tire changer was born. With the No-Mar all types of rims can be safely changed, even those containing carbon fiber.

Avoiding Scratches

There are several types of non-scratching motorcycle tire changers available. Some of them are designed for use in an auto shop, though they can still be used at home too. Yet, most non-professional motorcycle owners opt to get the Classic Ultimate Package II. This is the easiest tire changer to work with. And priced at just $895 it is one of the cheapest.

Best of all, you can get extensive online videos to show motorcycle owners how to properly use the non-scratching changers. This is essential because if you put a motorcycle on improperly, you risk getting in an accident that could cause serious injury or even death to yourself or another person. And unfortunately, many of the other motorcycle tire changers on the market provide minimal if any instructions. Motorcycle owners may have to turn to other sources to figure out whether or not they're putting the tires on properly.

Summary

In conclusion, getting a motorcycle tire changer can save a lot of money for motorcycle owners, provided they get the right kind. Cheaper motorcycle tire changers could put the wheels at risk for being scratched. On the other hand, changers like No-Mar can prevent scratching while allowing for an easy tire change that anyone can do.

Your Classic Corvette And Stingray - Sourcing Parts At Fair Pricing

With any classic vehicle finding a source of auto repair parts can be a major concern. So it is with classic Chevrolet Corvette as well as Chevrolet Stingray autos.

Corvettes have always had distinctive wheel covers and are a refreshing change from slotted mag wheels. The wood steering wheels add a rich touch if you are lucky to ever find one.

Interest has been spread into the 1968 and later models, especially car equipped with the lift out roof panels. In these cars, the excellent General Motors (G.M.) Turbo Hydra-matic transmission was the desired feature. Indeed one of the most valuable vehicle of this group has been the 1970 LT-1 350. Chevrolet itself had offered some good gymkhana suspension parts for this group of cars that are relatively inexpensive and greatly improve handling qualities.

Where can you find used parts for your classic Corvette? First of course are local swap meet and car clubs in your area. If you can shop close to home better be it.

You actually hold and fondle the part, inspecting it yourself. Why have to arrange and pay shipping charges. As well you may make valuable contacts for your Corvette restoration projects. Often one local contact will lead to another good source for parts as well as classic car restoration expertise.

Next on the list are magazines - such as - Corvette Enthusiast, Vette and Corvette Fever. It might be said that Corvette websites on the internet might be next on your list. However the actual magazines may provide a source for you first. Why not whittle down your Corvette resource list first rather than searching through the websites that may or may not have stock and be of the stature they claim. Websites can be made and put up easily. Magazines articles usually have current sourced lists; will place the vendors in some ranking. If there are ads - those ads have to paid for - which is an indication of the solvency and current resources of the firms involved. As well you may get additional good tips form the articles in the magazine. Classic car magazines such as Hemmings are also very useful.

Next for resources are actual websites devoted to this passion. The sites can be Corvette specific - such as vetteweb, the general motors website itself, The Corvette Club of America etc. Google the term "Corvette Links", "Chevrolet Corvette Links" or "Stingray Links". One link will always lead to more and additional links. Corvette enthusiasts are like that - always trying to be helpful and to share.

A terrific resource always is eBay. EBay is the premier online auction site. It can easily be found on the web at its home of http://ebay.com as well as various worldwide specific sites - whether they be ebay.ca in Canada or http://ebay.uk in the United Kingdom. EBay has both its original sales areas as well as the more specific and distinct eBay motors. The beauty of eBay is that somewhere in the world someone may have exactly the part, component or technical manuals that you are looking for.

In essence it may be "just lying around" and be of found money to them and yet be exactly what you require. It may be that that item is not available in your local area or the locals may want a killing for it. Either way eBay can be a very useful resource. Some of the items on eBay are on an auction basis; some are on a "buy now" price. Some are both. The beauty of eBay is that it has advanced features which may make your search for that exact hard to find Corvette car part easier. You can conduct product searches on eBay easily and specifically. If you are an eBay member (no cost to register), then you can have the eBay system email you the moment someone lists that part. Then you can either bid on the item, or if it is a buy now you can choose to purchase it. In addition eBay has a buyer request area where you can put out feelers and a request if anyone has that part or knows of contacts or leads that have that component available. Remember though with eBay that shipping costs are major component of the final and real cost of any good purchased. All that matters, if evaluating cost, is what the product costs when it arrives at the door of your shop.

Lastly never forget your local or area Chevrolet dealer themselves. There is both an amazing and remarkable amount of early Corvette parts still in the parts inventory of some Chevrolet dealers as well as some General Motors Chevrolet dealers who specialize in classic Corvette and Corvette Stingray car, mechanical as well as body parts.

Saving Gas and Alternative Fuels

Saving gas has been a topic that's been foremost on everyone's mind as of late. I remember when I was a youngster, I used to work at a gas station and was shocked when the price reached $.20 a gallon. "Saving gas" meant not going out Thursday night to run up and down the drags because you are saving your gas for Friday night when everybody else would be there. Now days $.20 wouldn't even get you TO the gas station let alone do anything to that little needle in your dashboard should you try to put it in your tank. We're actually happy when the price of gas remains below $3.50 a gallon! Saving gas is what this article is about- different ways of saving gas and some alternative fuels that may one day replace the gas we use to get from here to there.

The best way to save gas is probably one of the easiest ways as well. It doesn't cost a thing, except possibly a little time and you would really be surprised at just how much gas it can save. It's called "going slower"! A lot of people have an issue with this and I have to admit I did for a long time as well, not thinking that going slower would make any difference, but I've been converted and so can you. Here's my experience with this method of saving gas.

Like most people my age, I'm a speed freak. I loved to find out what kind of speed I could get out of the car on the freeway. Between my home and work its approximately 22 miles and I often challenged myself to see how long, or more precisely, how little time it would take to get to work. Of course, always staying within the speed limit (wink wink). I have a Ford Windstar van as I have certain medical conditions that disallow me from driving or riding in the small boxy cars they sell nowadays. Not that I would want to - even with the 50 miles per gallon that they get. In kind of a big guy being 6'4" tall and 280 pounds… I simply don't like sitting with my knees in my ears!

Anyway I decided to try an experiment. I've always wondered what those double lines by the number 55 on my speedometer meant so what I did was this: I found the "shortest route" to work (according to MapQuest) and started driving it every day at the maximum speed of 55 mph. Now this shorter route is approximately the same number of miles as it is taking the freeway to work but WOW! Did I notice the difference! My 15 gallon tank in the WindStar was more than half full after a normal week of driving. After the second week the tank would usually be empty and I would have to refill it, but I still had more than a quarter of the tank left in my van! I did some quick refill recalculations and found out that I'm only using two thirds the amount of fuel that I would on the freeway. Now I know what those double my lines mean! Put the needle at the double lines and instead of getting 32 miles per gallon you get 45 miles per gallon! It may take me a couple of more minutes to get to work, maybe a little more stop and go, but I saved a lot of money on gas and that's the whole point isn't it?

Another way they've found to save gas without your even knowing it, is to put additives in your gasoline to water it down a bit. One of the most popular ones is grain alcohol, something that I use to seek out as a kid to drink, not put in my car. They say it burns cleaner and I have to admit that it has to be better than the lead that they used to put in the gas because of its anti-knock qualities. Besides, with today's supercomputers that they have in cars, knocking has become a thing of the past (I always use the doorbell anyway).

There are other alternative fuels that can be gotten and used in your car listed among these are propane once again pure alcohol, fuel cells, and even water, yes water!

On the next page of find details on some of these different alternative fueling methods but here's a short list of some of the methods that I've looked into so for:

FUEL CELL-generates electricity with standard water. Zero emission which makes it a very attractive source of energy however there are some major drawbacks with this particular system including the cost, size, weight and so on…

GRAIN ALCOHOL-another great way to power your car! However it does take some major modifications to the engine. But it has zero emissions very low emissions and most of the exhaust is water vapor. One of the things I like most about this fuel is I find mixes great with orange juice on ice!

PROPANE-this is actually been around awhile and some companies still use it to power their trucks around town. The highly explosive nature of the gas under pressure and the fact that you have to carry so much of it are only two of the major disadvantages with the type of fuel.

HYDROGEN-the idea of hydrogen cars is been around for quite some time as well but it's even more explosive than propane and harder to carry around! More on the next page.

And last but not least (and also my favorite)

WATER-you heard me right, WATER! This is the same water you drink. All you have to do is fill up your tank with it and drive away! One of the major advances in the recent decade, this gives of propulsion from an almost unlimited resource and automatically replenishes itself as well! The ideal fuel! More on this on my next page.

Just remember the one thing that you can do now to help everybody save fuel saved gas save our environment and basically save our planet…

DRIVE SLOWER-look for that little double line on your speedometer and make the needle point at it as often as you can. It worked for me and I'm sure it will work for you.

Give it a shot! What we got to lose?

Tired of wasting money at the gas pump? I was too! Goto Run Your Car With Water! To learn how you to can double your gas mileage or eliminate gas usage all together! Check it out and see!

Truck Tarping Systems

It's a fact most states require trucker to secure their loads. The best way to achieve this is to secure loose loads with a tarping system. A good tarping system is durable, waterproof and has a hydraulic or electric wind up system that makes covering a load a snap.

It's the law! Dump trucks, trailers, trash haulers and any truck with an open cargo area are required to contain the load with tarps. A simple tarp with bungee cords may serve the purpose; the better way to do the job is with a permanently mounted tarping system.

These systems are available for truck bodies and trailers ranging in size from 12 feet through 38 feet in length. You have a choice of manual, electric, pneumatic or hydraulic operating systems depending upon tarp size and application. When fully operational the load is safely contained and there is never a risk of material flying out of the truck while it is on the road, causing possible accidents and death.

Retractable covering systems are usually manufactured using polished rust-free aluminum, galvanized steel or mild steel components. The vinyl mesh coverings are high quality 18 oz. or 22 oz. vinyl to provide semi-waterproof or waterproof coverage depending on the requirements. Many different colors are available, but the most popular are blue and black. If an anti-pollution screen is required a mesh material can be ordered from the supplier with a variety of weave strengths including the tarp industry leaders; mighty mesh and multi-mesh. All of our covering systems are guaranteed and built to last under extreme hauling conditions. Our tarp systems meet State requirements for load covering!

Tarp manufacturing has come a long way in recent years as new advances had been made in the industry with stronger and more durable tarps. Durable blue poly tarps with weather resistant polyethylene are the most common types, but there are many special applications as well. Tarping systems can be used for securing lumber, steel, rock, sand and debris, grain, or asphalt.

Wind up systems

There had been also advances made in how quickly and safely tarps can be secured to the trucks. Most high quality tarping systems have a spring loading mechanism to make tarping quicker, easier and safer than ever before. For the ultimate in convenience and speed choose electric or hydraulic winding system. All winding systems must also conform to most state, county and municipal laws requiring open trucks and trailers to contain their load securely. Among the many tarp wind up systems there are three main categories you can choose from; manual, hydraulic or electric wind up systems. The tarp wind up systems are usually powered by high torque 12VDC electric direct drive motors.

Quality and durability of the cover material is the key when it comes to tarps since the load these materials are subjected to can vary from application to application. The most common vinyl materials used for truck tarpings are classified by weight. The 14 oz vinyl coated polyester is the most popular as it's a lightweight vinyl that lends itself well for use on a wide variety of tarping system applications. The next category is the 18 oz vinyl coated polyester, which is most commonly used for over-the-road protective covers such as steel, lumber, or grain covers. This vinyl has a high tear strength and moderate to heavy abrasion resistance. The most durable and heaviest is the 22 oz vinyl coated polyester. It's about 25%-30% stronger than 18 oz vinyl. It's a erfect fit where the highest abrasion and tear resistance is needed.

Things to Remember When You Consider Buying Your Car At Auction

Whether you are in desperate need of a new car or you are simply looking around for a neat new way to get around, you'll find that sized property auctions conducted by the state or the country are excellent ways to get a new car. Essentially, banks, police departments and places that will repossess goods don't really have the space to keep them, and thus they will sell them off at exorbitantly low rates. You'll find that if you can just keep a few things in mind, you'll be able to make out like a bandit!

1. Find out where car auctions are held

To find out where the car auctions are near you, get online. Use Google to search for places near where you live that may store impounded or repossessed cars. Online is a good place to start your search, but you can widen your search by visiting your local city hall or contacting them by phone. You can also call your local police department and ask about any car auction they may have, when and where it will be held.

2. Study the Auction

Before the auction starts, prepare by studying the catalogue of cars that are going to be auctioned off. Focus on the price quotes, the low and the high, and particularly give attention to the type, model and year of the cars you're interested in. This way, you know how high you're willing to bid and what kind of car you're getting.

3. Get the VIN of cars to find more information

The VIN or Vehicle Identification Number can provide you with a lot more background information about the cars you plan to bid on. Many car auctions allow bidders to preview the cars a few days before bidding starts. Take this opportunity to get the VIN of the cars you're eyeing. You'll find the VIN on a small metal plate located on the dashboard by the driver's side. The VIN of a car can give you useful information about the car. For this, you can use an online database. Just type the VIN and you'll find out about the car's history, including information on accidents it has been involved in.

4.Remember the "as is" clause

Many auctions like this will not recompense you if the car that you ended up winning has severe problems. This is why doing your research is so important, and this is why you should always find out as much about a car as possible before buying it.

As you can see, there is a lot to remember when it comes to getting a car via police auction. To make sure that the experience is a rewarding one for you, take a look at links below and see what other good advice you can get.

How To Become A Good Used Car Dealer: Insider Tips

If someone asks you... can you rely on the words of used car dealers? You might probably answer NO. Then, I will ask you... why? 3 Reasons To Throw Away Your Spare Tire!

Years ago you wouldn’t dare drive anywhere without a spare tire. Back in the 50’s when I first started to drive you needed a couple of sets of tires on hand. Summer tires and winter tires and, if you got 25,000 miles out of them you were lucky. Back in the early years of the automobile if you could get 50 miles without a flat tire it was a mile stone. Cars had spare tires and rims on both sides of the vehicle.

So How About Today?

In 2007, tire-related issues caused nearly 1 million motorists to require roadside assistance during the months of June, July and August according to Road & Travel Magazine. That equates to roughly 4 million “reported” tire related issues each year. There are probably many more that go unreported.

But, let’s compare carrying around that bulky spare tire for protection against flat tire inconvenience versus carrying around a spare bumper for rear end collision damage.

Typically there are about 2 million rear end collisions each year. Obviously, there are at least two vehicles per rear end collision so you end up damaging a minimum of 4 million vehicles " about the same number of vehicles that reported tire related issues. The National Transportation Safety Administration estimates that there are at least twice a many rear end collisions that go “unreported”. So if we assume there about the same number of unreported flat tires then both of these incidents have about the same probability.

But when you consider the other types of accidents that can damage the rear of your vehicle " like backing accidents (an estimated 3 million) then the scale starts leaning more towards carrying a spare bumper for protecting your rear rather than a spare tire for fixing that flat tire. And, if you factor in the most frequent vehicle accident " getting hit while parked, the scale is tipped even further. For instance, you’re vehicle is twice as likely to get hit while parked then be involved in a rear end collision. So that’s equal to an estimated 8 million vehicles hit while parked " and we’ll assume 4 million in the front and 4 million in the rear. So What’s The Conclusion?

You’re two to nearly 3 times as likely to get into a rear end collision, backing accident or get hit in the rear while parked, than you are to have a flat tire. So why are we carrying around a spare tire. We really need to be carrying around a spare bumper.

But Is There Such A Thing As A Spare Bumper?

Well, if you have a receiver hitch that’s found on most pickup trucks and SUVs then you’re in luck. There are crash tested, energy absorbing spare bumpers out on the market today that will eliminate a lot of the damage caused by the rear end collision, getting hit while parked and self inflicted backing damage " for about the same price as a spare tire.

So if you want to save some gas, throw away your 50 pound spare tire and replace it with a 16 pound spare bumper. But, if you’re safety conscious enough to carry a spare tire then you really need to consider a spare bumper. It will be used at least three times as much as that bulky old spare tire to ward off all the weirdo’s, losers and lunatics out there trying to wreck your vehicle, steal your deductible, cripple your family and jeopardize your insurance.

Jeff is CEO of Mohr Mfg is an expert in rear end collisions. His company makes portable, energy absorbing, spare safety bumpers or "hitch steps" that install in seconds and protect your vehicle from rear-end collision damage, reduce whiplash injuries, shield your gas tank from under-ride and eliminate parking lot and parallel parking dents and dings. A Hybrid Car Races Round The Block

It has been reported that Toyota is planning to run a hybrid car in the NASCAR endurance race soon. The endurance race runs for 24 hours, so the question is, can the NASCAR's hybrid racer finish the race let alone win it?

Toyota has been developing and making hybrid cars since 2006 and the world's leading seller of hybrids vehicles, Yomiuri Shimbun, wants the Le Mans endurance race to be the main showcase for the hybrid vehicle.

There are professionals in all fields working hard on the NASCAR's hybrid racer to get it ready for 2010.

It may seem like a lifetime away, but in reality it will come up to them quicker than a starting car. There are dozens of people from Toyota in the racing and the hybrid divisions working round the clock to perfect the car.

Toyota as a company is no stranger to this field as it has had a hybrid racer win an endurance race that lasted 24 hours. It was the Supra HV-R hybrid car that Toyota won with. They stopped however during 1999 when the car only placed second. They started to focus on the formula 1 racing world.

Hybrid cars can stand the test of an endurance race as Toyota has proved in the past. Is it only a matter of time before every car in races such as NASCAR and Formula 1 are hybrid cars?

The green cars still play second best to diesel or petrol cars; can they ever make it up to and beyond them? There is no doubt that hybrid cars can stand up in style, speed and comfort stakes.

However, when we are talking about 24 hour endurance races and Formula 1 races; will they ever be able to get anywhere close?

Hybrid cars of NASCAR may be said as not second best, however, as these cars have shown through tests that they are at par with the world's best diesel and petrol cars.

There is no doubt that the world is starting to take hybrid cars more seriously than ever before, we are more focused on what is green now than we ever have been. It is important for all aspects of motoring that NASCAR's hybrid racer can perform and outperform other standard cars.

It could lead the way for everyone else to take notice too. Right now, the world over is betting that hybrids have lots of good things to offer to the riding public.

And they are certainly right about that.

NASCAR hybrid racers like that of Toyota will make big news, as predicted by sports fans, in the upcoming endurance race because of the increase efforts invested by automakers.

Design, engineering and endurance tests have been amazingly doubled by most companies to give the hybrids especially the NASCAR racers the push they need to further upgrade their reputation and worldwide acceptance. Driving Instructions For The Beginner

When a beginner undergoes driving instruction, the first phase normally followed by the driving instructor is the orientation of the student on the names and functions of the different parts of the vehicle that has to do with the driving of the vehicle.

The student driver at this time learns about the ignition key and its purpose, the steering wheel and its function, the gas pedal or accelerator and its function, the car's brakes and functions, the clutch and transmission lever and its function.

The instructor will teach the very basic points to the student seated in the driver's seat. This procedure will give him a feel of the real thing even when the vehicle is stationary yet.

With the engine still off, the student is asked to simulate the starting procedure, the clutching process to go through the different gears from first, thru the second gear, through third, and so on to fourth and fifth, and the reverse gear.

Once the tutor develops some confidence that the student has got the feel of these steps while the engine was at rest, the next step is to bring out the student driver to an open field, and is made to go through the second phase of the course.

He starts the engine, and then slowly moves the car forward under the watchful eye of the instructor seated on the right of the student driver. The student will need some time to learn how to get the right mix of gas pedal action with the clutch pedal. He will go through with some jumpy starts at first, but with more practice, the student should be able to get the right coordination of his right and left legs in a while. While doing this coordination of his right and left foot, he is simultaneously learning the careful handling the steering wheel to control the vehicle's direction in its initial movements.

If the open field is wide enough, the student goes through the different speeds corresponding to the different gears, including moving in the reverse gear. Several rounds around the field should give the student the chance to develop some confidence that he is learning to drive. The instructor at this stage will also give practical tests to the student on what he should do under varying driving conditions, simulating such conditions that the student driver could run into in actual road driving.

The next step after the student passes this second phase of the instruction is to bring out the student on the road, preferably in the less-traveled streets, to start giving him the feel of real driving. Before getting started on the actual road driving, he gets instructions on the various road regulations and procedures, to make him aware of the rules to follow in street driving.

The instructor gradually exposes the student driver to different road situations until he is ready to move to the busier streets.

After about a week of this driving on the road, the student normally should be relatively ready to strike out on his own. Before the tutor releases the student driver all by himself on the road, several days of driving around in the company of his tutor will enable the student to acquire more experience and confidence in his driving. That should not be very difficult for the average person.

For vehicles with automatic clutching mechanisms, learning to drive them could be much easier for the average driver-to-be.

Simple Ways to Improve Gas Mileage

Gas prices have been growing increasingly higher for the past several years. Everybody wants to save money on gas especially now that the price has been rapidly increasing. One way to save gas is to increase gas mileage.

Here are some tips on improving gas mileage. These tips will not only save on gas but will enable the car to last for a longer time:

1. It is very important to keep the car well maintained. The efficiency of the car will be greater and the performance of the car enhanced if proper maintenance is performed. This in turn helps in improving the gas mileage of the vehicle.

2. The tires of the car should always be inflated properly. Tires that are not inflated properly will make the car's wheels have difficulty rolling and it will then require more energy and would consume more gas. Car owners can save gas by having the tires properly inflated.

3. Cars are heavily load consume more gas. It is recommended that unnecessary weight be removed from the car. The lighter the car's load, the less gas is consumed. Carriers can add weight to the car and should be removed when not in use.

4. Drive smoothly. If the driver uses the brakes a lot and then suddenly speeds up, or if the car is accelerated abruptly will result in greater fuel consumption. Therefore, it is recommended that you drive smoothly to improve gas mileage.

5. Always keep the car clean and washed. It is also recommended that the car be waxed regularly. This helps by improving aerodynamics and can help in improving gas mileage.

6. Another way to improve gas mileage is by saving on ventilation. A car's air conditioner uses more gas when being used. The air conditioner may be turned off and the windows opened when driving slowly - weather permitting. However, it is not recommended to open the windows when driving fast since it adds extra pressure and drag on the vehicle.

There are many ways gas mileage may be improved. Car owners should be responsible if they want to save on gas and money. It does not require big sacrifices to improve your vehicle's gas mileage. All it takes is a little responsibility and proper care of the car. These simple ways can each help improve gas mileage a bit but when done regularly and in combination will help save a great deal of money.

The Modern Way To Get Your Next Vehicle

Whatever you drive around in, you know that sooner or later it will be time to get a replacement vehicle that's a little bit better than the one you have now.

The trouble is that looking for it can take up an awful lot of your time, and if you don't know a lot about the motor trade there is always the risk that you will end up paying over the odds, or even worse, buying a lemon - otherwise known as a dud.

But it doesn't all have to be hard work. Searching over the internet is a great starting point, and even the most popular motoring magazines usually have their own website which enables you to search far and wide to see what motors are available.

When looking to buy cars online you will find it far easier to search for the exact make and model you want. This certainly beats wandering round used car lots trying to see whether they have anything you might like. You can narrow your choices down far more quickly using this method - without even leaving the house.

Before you go hunting for a used car online, you may want to get a rough idea of what you would be expected to pay by using Glass's guide, as they provide used car valuations that will tell you if you are paying over the odds. This is also a great resource if you want to sell your existing car to help fund the purchase of your next one.

One of the best parts of starting the search for your next car like this is that the amount of time you actually spend viewing cars will be cut down drastically. If you don't enlist the help of the internet then you could be spending many fruitless hours driving from place to place in the hope of finding exactly what you want. By using this method you will be able to go straight to your short-listed cars and complete your ideal purchase far more quickly.

Lots of people are turning to the internet to sell their cars now, which makes it a very fertile marketplace for everyone looking to buy one. Online auction sites are another good place to look, and since some owners use the auction format rather than listing their car with a buy it now price, you may even get a nice bargain as well.

So, the next time you are in the market for another used car, don't just think of the traditional methods of getting one. Switch your computer on first and look further afield in order to narrow down your choices and find the right used car for your needs. It's a lot easier than you might think.

Tips to Help You Save Gas Consumption

With the constant increase in oil prices, car owners get more concerned about how they can save gas and money while driving. This article gives you tips on how you can reduce your gas consumption and save money.

Always have your car tuned-up regularly. If you car's engine is in bad operating condition it will utilize more gasoline. Vehicle maintenance will help your car's engine run efficiently thus improving your expenditure of money. Clean or change congested air filters to enhance your fuel mileage by as much as 10%.

* Maintain a steady rate when driving you car. Frequent stops when driving add to your gas expenditure by as much as 30%. Imagine if you spend $3.00 per gallon, you lose $9.00 for every 10 gallons of gas that you consume. Avoid sudden stops and abrupt increases in speed. Make use of "cruise control" when you are driving on the highway. This will allow you to maintain a steady speed and avoid additional gas consumption.

Another way to keep a steady rate is by avoiding heavy traffic areas. Also avoid unnecessary use of the clutch.

* Schedule buying your gas during the cool hours. It is ideal to purchase your fuel early in the morning or during the night. You will acquire extra for your cash during these cooler hours.

* Close you car windows when you are driving on the highway. When your windows are closed the aerodynamics are better and it lessens the drag on the vehicle. Gaping windows cause extra friction and reduce your car's mileage.

* Minimize the use of air conditioners when it is not necessary. Use your car's vents if possible. If you really need to use your air conditioner, try to set it as low as possible. Do not operate your air conditioner with your car windows open - it uses more gas this way.

* Do not let your engine idle when not driving. Turn off you car's engine when you need to wait for a time longer than a minute. If your car is idle for more that one minute, it uses the same amount of gas that you would use when you are restarting the engine.

* Lessen your car's load. The heavier the car, the more gas it will consume.

* Check if tires inflated accordingly. Tires with appropriate pressure save fuel better than when under-filled or over-filled with air.

While the lease contract can be for two or three years, the hire contract usually ranges between one and five years.
